How to identify
- Oval gray armor; pillbugs roll into a ball, sowbugs do not
- Active under mulch and boards in damp spots
- Shallow chewing on soft fruit touching soil

Control methods
- Reduce excess moisture and thick mulch against tender stems.
- Elevate ripening strawberries on straw or clips.
- Remove boards and debris hiding spots near beds.
